On the May 6 city clean-up day, as part of the “Let’s Do It!” Day of useful deeds taking place throughout Estonia, in the resort of Narva-Jõesuu, enthusiasts worked on several objects at once: the city area near the lighthouse, the beach (including Mummasaare and Vambola), city streets.

At the lighthouse, together with adults, teenagers and children of primary school age were wielding a rake in unison. There was also a group of guys here along with social workers from SOS Lasteküla. “They work well, real serious help,” said representatives of the older generation about the young participants in the cleanup.

By tradition, after a two-hour cleaning, everyone who came to the clean-up day, the city offered a small snack – tea and pies.

On May 6, city cleanups were also held in other parts of the big Narva-Jõesuu – in Holgina and in Sinimäe.
According to ERR, over 1,200 talks were registered in Estonia during the Teeme Ära (Let’s Do It!) Good Deeds Day on Saturday, May 6, in which at least 20,000 people took part.

The Teeme Ära campaign has been taking place every spring for 16 years and is the largest civic initiative in Estonia in terms of the number of volunteers.
