In the village of Uspenskoye near Moscow, the local cultural and leisure center was given the honorary name of the People’s Artist of the USSR, the legend of the performing arts – Iosif Davydovich Kobzon. Consent to the naming was given personally by the widow of the great artist Nelli Mikhailovna Kobzon, one of the main motivations was the fact that Iosif Davydovich was a resident of the Odintsovo urban district.

“This name was assigned to preserve and increase the memory of an outstanding cultural figure of our country, a citizen, patriot, public and political figure, as well as to develop the patriotic education of a new formation of Russian youth,” explains the idea of ​​naming Kobzon.

The Cultural and Leisure Center houses a modern concert hall, a recording studio, and there are free clubs. Exhibitions, concerts, expositions of “live” photography, master classes, poetry and music festivals, sports competitions, quests, evenings for veterans, youth discos, and reporting performances are constantly held here.

Within the framework of the solemn event, an exhibition was opened – an exposition dedicated to the life and work of I.D. Kobzon. These are books, photographs, CDs, personal items, costumes, sculptures, awards, notes, archival materials related to the creative activity of the great singer. Some of them were handed over personally by Nelli Mikhailovna. A big concert was also held that evening, in which the stars of the stage took part.
