Gourma: The Organization of Pan-African and Struggle Movements and Associations castigates ECOWAS
Fada N’Gourma May 5, 2023 (AIB)- The Organization of Pan-African and Struggle Movements and Associations, facing media men on Thursday, May 4, 2023 in Fada N’Gourma, expressed its support for the transitional authorities.
During the press conference, the spokesman of the Organization of Pan-African and Struggle Movements and Associations, Marius Lompo depicted the context of Burkina Faso where certain regional and international institutions are trying to undermine by all means through an imperialist policy , innocent populations and victims of the economic horrors of this policy.
This situation characterized by the repeated attacks which have bereaved our poor populations is the result of this imperialist foreign policy of certain democracies of the North, suggested Mr. Lompo.
Continuing, the spokesperson of the day deplored the fact that certain regional institutions such as the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), instead of providing their support, to the response that the government of Burkina Faso implements under the leadership of Captain Ibrahim Traoré, engages in actions or interferences that suggest hidden agendas.
He argued that the many efforts to bring peace and stability in several cities and countryside on the leadership of the current power, are verifiable realities on the ground.
However, aware that the process of securing the country is a long-term struggle, Mr. Lompo suggests to Captain Ibrahim Traoré to intensify the fight, especially in the eastern region where terrorist attacks are recurrent.
To reaffirm their support for the Defense and Security Forces (FDS), the Volunteers for Homeland Defense (VDP) and for the transition, the Organization of Pan-African and Struggle Movements and Associations calls on all the populations of the towns and countryside of the Eastern region at a meeting on Saturday May 6, 2023 from 8 a.m. at the Fada N’Gourma martyrs’ square
