With the participation of more than 500 third and fourth grade primary school boys and girls, the road safety education days for children, organized by the Municipality of Ushuaia, concluded. They went to the Cochocho Vargas gym. They carried out a “circuit of traffic education”.
The activity promoted by the Municipal Government Secretariat through the Traffic Directorate and the Road Education Department also had the presence of personnel from the Provincial Transport Directorate and the Tierra del Fuego Police. The Secretary of Government, Yesica Garay, affirmed that “the initiative was a success because more than 500 boys and girls attended along with their teachers during the three days in which this proposal was developed.”
The official stressed that “a campaign of this type with such participation has not been carried out for a long time” and said that “the objective now is to bring the driver’s education circuit, games and activities to schools.” Along these lines, she remarked that “so we can continue to put each of the tasks of prevention and promotion of road safety on the agenda.”
“It is important to work with boys and girls so that when they are adults they have acquired the necessary habits for responsible driving,” said Garay.
On the other hand, he thanked “every transit and driver education employee who was involved in this activity”, since “the predisposition they show makes it possible to make visible the proposals that arise from the Secretary of Government”, given that “the mayor Walter Vuoto constantly asks us to leave the offices and decentralize each of the actions that we carry out”.
Finally, the Secretary of Government recognized the participation of the city’s schools in the sessions and invited educational institutions that want to join to “come to the Traffic Office located in the municipal building on Arturo Coronado street.”
