The streets of São Paulo have always had a lot of history to tell, be it about migration flows, gastronomy, architecture or music. The latter is the focus of the tours promoted by Sesc Pompeia together with Guia Negro —travel and afro-tourism platform and blog of Sheet—, called Territories of Samba Paulistano.

The tour traces the cartography of samba in São Paulo and presents the city to the public as a territory of musical memory, resistance and black culture. All this is shown through visits to samba schools and Afro-religious institutes.

The program takes tourists to Barra Funda, known for being a working-class neighborhood, but also one of the cradles of samba in the city of São Paulo. The tour passes through Camisa Verde e Branco, one of the most traditional samba schools.

The next neighborhood is Bexiga, known as a region of Italian immigrants. During the tour it will be shown from a different perspective, since there is a strong influence of black culture and history there. The Vai-Vai samba school and the Achiropita church Afro-pastoral church will be points of interest visited during the tour.

Likewise, the guided tour will include a tour of the Casa Verde neighborhood, in the north of the city, where the largest number of samba schools are concentrated, such as Unidos do Peruche.
