The Viento del Sur School in Puerto Real will recover an Infant line next year

The increase in applications in this public educational center has made the Ministry of Education return to the School the line for the first year of the Second Cycle of Early Childhood Education, which has not worked this year due to the low demand for schoolchildren.

However, for the course 2023/2024 the center has collected 33 requests compared to 26 last year, a reason why Education has seen fit to equip the center with the second line and prevent even eight students from the center have to be referred to a center that is not the one their families had chosen.

One of the particularities of this Nursery School is The ubicationin one of the neighborhoods of the outskirts of the city in which the educational offer of Early Childhood Education is limited to this center. In other words, if this line that was suppressed last year had not been returned, at least eight schoolchildren in this neighborhood would have had to be referred to other centers in the municipality and therefore depend on transportation, which is one of the main problems in this neighborhood. That has been, according to the direction of the School, one of the reasons that have weighed when granting this line.

It must be remembered that just a year ago the residents of the barrida carried out a collection of signatures and mobilized on different occasions, with casseroles at the School and before the territorial delegation of Education in Cádiz, to try to prevent the suppression of this line and they did not succeed. Now, after the increase in the number of applications, the center will have two lines for three-year-olds for the next academic year, one line for four-year-olds and two lines for five-year-olds.

The same demand in the Reyes Católicos school

That of the Viento del Sur Infant School was not the only demand for a new infant line in Puerto Real. A group of mothers and fathers of students in the municipality continue to demand the second line of three-year-old Infants for the Public School Catholic kingsupon learning that almost a dozen children are going to be left out of this center due to a lack of places.
