In a statement sent to MTI, the institute reminds that the war in our neighbor, which has been raging for more than a year, is “perhaps the most serious crisis in the history of the European Union, so it is important to know how the Hungarian people judge its handling at the EU level.”

According to the results of the research, 9 percent of the respondents fully agree, and 13 percent rather agree with the EU’s response to the war, the sanctions and the arms deliveries.

According to this, one-fifth of the Hungarian population considers the EU position taken in relation to the war to be a good direction, while the vast majority, 71 percent of Hungarian people, do not consider these to be correct: 17 percent rather disagree with them, while 54 percent of the respondents do not consider these to be appropriate solutions at all – was written.

They noted: there is no significant difference in people’s opinions according to gender and financial situation, and from an age group point of view, it can be established that the rejection of EU solutions is the highest among the middle-aged, active age group of 40-49 and 50-59. It also turned out that the most marked difference in the country can be measured according to the type of settlement: “only” 35 percent of Budapest residents completely reject sanctions and arms shipments, while the same figure shows a ratio of 55 percent in other cities and nearly two-thirds (62 percent) in villages.
