They took the train from Montparnasse station. After the ultra-right demonstration on Saturday May 6, members of neo-Nazi groups gathered in Saint-Cyr-l’École, west of Versailles (Yvelines) to spend the evening there.

They met in the Simone-Veil municipal hall, named after the former Holocaust survivor Minister of Health, as revealed on Tuesday Mediapart, photos of participants making the fascist salute in support. Three music groups whose members claim to be Aryans have performed there. In total, more than 300 people would have partied all night.

“How is it that nobody knew about it, indignant William Martinet, the Nupes deputy for the 11th district of Yvelines. How could they meet in Paris all day and end up in Saint-Cyr-l’Ecole without anyone watching them, without a single member of intelligence following them? I’m quite flabbergasted to see that, it’s unacceptable. The parliamentarian sent a letter to the Minister of the Interior recalling “that it is forbidden in France to walk around in SS uniform or to promote the Nazi regime”.

The room rented by an individual

He also seized the public prosecutor of Versailles, hoping for legal proceedings against the protagonists. A process also undertaken by the town hall (UDI) of Saint-Cyr-l’École. “For us, it’s a classic room rental by an individual for a birthday,” says the mayor’s office. Everything was in order, the deposit, the insurance certificate, and the room was returned in good condition. We had a few noise complaints but nothing out of the ordinary. »

The municipality indicates that it did not try to contact the organizer of the evening but still wrote to the public prosecutor after seeing the photo of the Nazi salute. “Even if we had known the reason, we don’t know what we could have done, the law leaves us quite helpless. The only one who can ban is the prefect and only by demonstrating that there is a risk of disturbing public order. Contacted, the prefecture of Yvelines did not wish to comment.
