The information was released by the Undersecretary of Health, Hugo López-Gatell, during the morning conference. According to his words, the decision was made by the General Health Council and endorsed by the top leader of the country.
“The president has signed a decree that puts an end to the validity of the decree of March 23, 2020, in which the health emergency situation associated with Covid-19 was established.”
Mexico follows the WHO
This announcement follows the one published by the World Health Organization (WHO) on May 4. In both cases, it is emphasized that the SARS-CoV-2 virus will remain and may even never disappear. For his part, López-Gatell added that sufficient characteristics are met to mark the end of the pandemic in Mexico. He indicated that during the last five months there has been a considerable decrease in the number of new cases and deaths from this disease.

Vaccina Patria, the first completely Mexican
