And its placement also differs from the method used in the elderly. The one known as “percutaneous implant” it is not possible in neonatal age. For this reason, it has been carried out through a “surgical access”.
This operation, carried out successfully by Spanish cardiologists, has required authorization from the Spanish Agency for Medicines and Health Products. After analyzing the different options available, the AEMPS has authorized its implant as compassionate use.
