The penalty for withdrawing the Bianconeri’s 15 points will be reviewed on May 22.

Italian sports justice will review Juventus Turin’s penalty for alleged accounting fraud on May 22, suspended on April 20 for reassessment, we learned from the Italian Federation on Wednesday.

The Court of Appeal of the Federation had imposed in January a withdrawal of fifteen points to Juve because of capital gains deemed artificial during certain sales of players. But the Guarantee College of the Italian Olympic Committee (Coni), seized by the club, provisionally returned these points to the Bianconeri in April by requesting a reassessment.

In the reasons for its decision, published this week, this body confirms a “voluntary and repeated alteration of accounting entriesfrom Juve. But she asks for a reconsideration of the sanction, which opens the way to a reduced penalty.

Juve should therefore know their fate on May 22, just before playing Empoli at the end of the 36th day of Serie A. There will then be only two days of the championship, including a shock against AC Milan, a rival for the qualification in the Champions League, during the 37th day, May 28.

Juve is currently second, five points ahead of AC Milan (5th), knowing that only the first four in Serie A are qualified for the next C1. However, it can also qualify for the Champions League if successful in the Europa League, in which it plays the semi-finals against Sevilla.

Before the ordinary justice, a new hearing was also held this Wednesday in Turin to continue the examination of the requests for dismissal on trial of twelve leaders and ex-leaders, including ex-president Andrea Agnelli, for alleged financial embezzlement.

The debates focused on a possible relocation of the future trial to Milan or Rome, instead of Turin. But the judge decided to rely on the Court of Cassation to decide and, pending this decision, set a new hearing for October 26, according to the Italian agencies Time.news and Ansa.
