France pulls out its American anti-Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) weapon. Emmanuel Macron announced this Thursday a new investment tax credit as part of the future law for green industry. This is substantial since it could represent from 20% to 45% of the sums invested in the productive apparatus, or in intangible assets (patents, licenses) and it will be added to the support already provided for R&D expenditure.
“France will thus be the first European country to decline what the European texts allow us to do”, underlined the Head of State, in reference to the measures adopted by Brussels at the beginning of the year in response to the IRA: the European Union has relaxed state aid, temporarily and for investments in innovation and green technologies.
