The teaser that was presented for the next installment of MK has sparked a wave of rumors thanks to some industry insiders like Jesus CordenWindows Central journalist and the mysterious user’car car-only‘. Both agree that the title will bear the name ‘Mortal Kombat 1‘, completely dispensing with placing the number 12.
This makes sense with respect to the mysterious video presented by the developers of the saga, NetherRealm Studios, by showing us a wall clock that was moving one of its hands that skipped number 12 to continue running but at number 1.
On the other hand, it is mentioned that the announcement would be very close, and could take place in the supposed PlayStation Showcase that Sony is preparing for later this month. Warner Bros. and the Japanese firm have already worked together to bring surprises to digital broadcasts, although it hasn’t always worked, as happened with Suicide Squad Kills the Justice League, which ended up being pushed back to 2024.

What is said about ‘Mortal Kombat 1’?
This new reboot would come exclusively to current generation consoles, Nintendo Switch y PC. There would be three editions: The edition standard of $69.99 (PS5/Xbox Series), Nintendo Switch ($59.99); a premium of $109.99 and an edition collector at the price of $249.99.
Jez Corden mentions that its premiere is scheduled for the month of September; so it would be competing against Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, if Insomniac and PlayStation end up confirming the rumors that it will arrive in that month.
Mortal Kombat 1 I would bet again on a character pass like the previous installments, which in the saga was known as ‘Kombat Pass‘. One of the guest fighters would be the rumored Peacemaker from DC Comics. There is no information on whether Homelander de The Boys it will finally be there.
