The Federal Government has relaunched the program with more protection for families, with a benefit model that considers family size and characteristics, those with three or more people will receive more than one person living alone.
In addition to ensuring basic income for families in poverty, the Bolsa Família Program seeks to integrate public policies, strengthening families’ access to basic rights such as health, education and social assistance. Who has the right?
To be entitled to Bolsa Família, the main rule is that the income of each person in the family is a maximum of R$ 218 per month. That is, if a member of the family receives a minimum wage (R$ 1,302), and in that family there are six people, the income of each one is R$ 217. As it is below the limit of R$ 218 per person, this family is entitled to receive the benefit.
How to Receive?
Firstly, you must be registered in the Cadastro Único, with correct and up-to-date data. This registration is done at social assistance service points in the municipalities, such as the CRAS. You must present your CPF or voter registration card.
Remembering that, even registered in the Cadastro Único, the family does not immediately join the Bolsa Família. Every month, the program automatically identifies the families that will be included and that will start receiving the benefit.
