With a hill stage and a time trial, there will be a lot of goodies on the menu again next weekend. With the Golden Giro we will not just let this pass. If you register a team for Saturday at noon, you will receive a free team.
If you want to collect a lot of points this weekend, select several speed drivers. Next Remco Evenepoel (28 million euros) and Primoz Roglic (28 million euros) are also João Almeida (26 million euros), Philip Ganna (18 million euros), Jay Vine (18 million euros), Geraint Thomas (18 million euros), Brandon McNulty (17 million euros), Stefan Küng (17 million euros), Bruno Armirail (10 million euros) and Will Barta (5 million euros) is keen on an excellent result in the 35-kilometer time trial.
How do you score points in the Golden Giro?
In each stage, the top 30 of the stage result collects points: the winner of the day earns 50 points, the 30th earns 1 point. If your ‘super leader’ finishes in the top three, an additional bonus will be added. If he wins the stage, he takes 20 extra points. If he comes second, he earns another 15 points. If he finishes third, he gets 10 points.
In the race you don’t win a round or stage without teammates. Therefore, all teammates of the stage winner earn 5 extra points for that stage – regardless of whether they finish the stage themselves or not. Attention: this rule does not apply during the two remaining time trials in this Giro.
Is one of your riders wearing the pink jersey at the end of the ride? Then an additional 5 points are added. Does someone from your team sprint to the purple jersey during a stage or does he climb to the blue jersey? Then he can count himself 3 points richer. Does one of your youngsters win the white jersey after a ride? For this he gets 1 extra point.
The top 30 of the final classification and the top 15 of the additional classifications will receive extra scores after the last stage. Then you will also find out whether you will get the main prize of 5,000 euros.
