President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvilithe country’s three opposition parties, as well as the European Union and the United States, protested the resumption of direct flights between Georgia and Russia.
President of Russia on May 10 Vladimir Putin announced its unilateral decision to resume these flights.
The Georgian government supported this decision.
The European Union has called on Georgia, which wants to become its member, to support aviation sanctions against Russia.
This means that Tbilisi should not allow the flights of Russian planes to Georgia and Georgian planes to Russia.
