Corona warning app: New update makes events easier | Life & Knowledge

by time news

The Corona-Warn-App has got a fresh function with the latest update. And that could ensure that the time-consuming scanning of each individual vaccination certificate at events will no longer be necessary.

Because: With the new app version 2.15, users can provide their 3G proof when booking concert tickets, for example. According to the developers, the feature works with vaccination and recovery certificates as well as with negative test results.

This is how it works: After you have given your consent, the booking website displays a QR code. And this can then be scanned in using the warning app, for example from a computer screen. This works via the middle button in the lower bar of the app.

If you book your tickets on your mobile phone, you can save the QR code from the organizer’s website as a screenshot and then upload it to your Corona app. This can also be done via the middle button.

If you press this, a new page opens. At the bottom there is the “Open file” field, which you can use to upload the screenshot.

The warning app then checks whether the uploaded certificate meets the requirements of the organizer. If it worked, a green check mark will be displayed.

Important to know: All data in the booking system must exactly match that of the certificate (e.g. middle name). The prerequisite for the function is that it is offered by the organizer.

In addition, the recommendations for action for a red warning in the app (increased risk of corona infection) have been adapted.

By the way: For a few weeks now, Luca QR codes have also been scanned with the Corona warning app.
