The messaging app WhatsApp launched message editing feature for testers of the platform in its latest beta version for Android, with which it will be possible to correct a message that has already been sent, editing it later within 15 minutes of sending itboth in chats with a recipient and in group ones.

This development began in June of last year. In this way, it makes it easier for users to correct them, avoiding having to delete them to rewrite them, for example, in case they have made a mistake when writing a word.

The function is available to testers for beta version 2.23.10.13 of the Android application, as WaBetaInfo has been able to verify.

Likewise, this medium has detailed that there are no limits on how many times you can edit the same message. However, these changes must be made within a maximum period of fifteen minutes from the moment of sending. After a quarter of an hour has elapsed, the message cannot be edited again.

As the aforementioned portal explains, this time frame for editing messages is limited to 15 minutes to avoid compromising information and comprehension of the conversation, since if the messages can be edited unlimitedly and when desired, there could be failures in the comprehension of what is spoken.

Similarly, when the message has been edited, an ‘edited’ label appears inside the message balloonto indicate that it is not the original and clarify to other users if a message has changed.

In addition, another of the characteristics of this function is that itMessages can only be edited on the device from which they were sent y not from other devices where the account is synced.
