No one knows how long the breeder from Čížkov u Blovice kept the dog in terrible conditions. The only thing certain is that Goran was malnourished at the time of sampling and had apparently never been to the vet. “Inspectors of the State Veterinary Administration from the Pilsen Region managed to remove from completely unsuitable conditions Central Asian herding dog. The joint inspection was organized on the basis of a received initiative,” said Petr Vorlíček, a press spokesman for the State Veterinary Administration.
No food or water
At the time of the inspection, there was an animal that should weigh around 60 kilograms, in a small makeshift box that was covered in feces. It didn’t have a chance to drink and, according to veterinarians, it also lacked food. “The nutritional status of the dog was deteriorated. The breeder was not even able to prove that she had the mandatory vaccinations,” described Vorlíček.
Immediate withdrawal
Officials immediately freed Goran from his prison. “It was decided on the spot about immediate placement in preliminary substitute care. The dog is currently located in the U Františka shelter in the village of Borovno,” the spokesman added. According to the photos from the shelter, it is clear that life is just beginning for Goran and he is slowly discovering the world with his new caretakers.
Punishment for a tyrant
The regional veterinary administration started with the breeder administrative proceedings for violation of the Veterinary Act. He will also report to the authorities for animal cruelty.
