A century after the founding of its republic, a deeply divided Turkey goes to the polls this Sunday to elect its new president and renew its parliament. Polling stations opened as scheduled at 08:00 (0500 GMT) in Istanbul and Ankara. Polls give center-left Kiliçdaroglu a slim lead although most expect a second round in two weeks.
