A fire broke out at around 22:00 on Thursday, April 27, in the 8-storey and 40-flat block of the Folkart Site, which consists of 4 blocks, in the Yenikale District of Narlıdere district.
The wooden exterior of the site caused the flames to grow in a short time, while the residents of the site quickly evacuated the building.
While there was no loss of life in the fire, in which 6 people were affected by smoke and 1 person was slightly injured, the fire was brought under control at around 06:00 on the morning of 28 April.
Crime Scene Investigation Branch Directorate and firefighters completed their studies on the cause of the fire.
The teams, which examined all the apartments one by one, handed over the collected evidences to the prosecutor’s office with the clues obtained. The samples taken by the teams of the Crime Scene Investigation Branch Directorate were sent to the criminal laboratory to determine whether there was arson.
According to the report of the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality fire department, the fire occurred from a short circuit in the corridor lighting between the first and second floors.
