Erin Doom finally has a face. In Che tempo che fa, the young writer reveals her face. “I’ve always been a very introverted, reserved and withdrawn person,” said the author of Tearmaker and The Way the Snow Falls. In Fabio Fazio’s living room, she reveals her real name, Matilde. “When I started this journey, I chose a pseudonym to experience all of this in the way that best suited my nature. Anonymity was a compromise, because I still felt that I was losing something, such as the possibility of being able to meet and get to know my readers” , he added.

Erin Doom said her name is Matilde (she decided not to give her last name), she is just under 30 years old, lives in Emilia Romagna, studied Law and has always cultivated a passion for writing. “I would like to thank the readers very much for all the support they have given me over the years, even without seeing me, trusting what I have written. Now I will have meetings with my readers. Finally I will see them”.

After publishing “Maker of tears” (the best-selling book in Italy in 2022, and from which a film will soon be made) and “In the way snow falls”, on May 16 Magazzini Salani (which discovered the author on the Wattpad platform) will bring to bookstores “Stigma”, the new novel by the writer, whose plot promises to be overwhelming, full of emotions and even torments. Erin Doom spoke about the themes of the new book, Stigma: “I’ve always wanted to tell realities far from mine”.

The protagonist of “Stigma” is a girl who no longer believes in miracles. Too many times, in fact, her life has chewed it up and spat it out, deluding her that a glittering future was in store for her. Alone and without means, Mireya decides to move to Philadelphia to seek her fortune. She has only an old suitcase with her, surrounded by the freezing winter of an unknown city. Her personal miracle seems to take place when she comes across a neon sign that stands out in the dark of night. Eccentric and opulent, the Milagro’s club is a place capable of captivating anyone who crosses its threshold, including Mireya. With the stubbornness of someone who has nothing to lose, the girl manages to get hired as a bartender. Milagro’s, however, is more than an exclusive venue. Behind its closed doors, in addition to the sequins and stage lights, destinies intertwine and whisper secrets. The darkest ones all condense in the harsh and enchanting face of Andras, the head of security. It’s hate at first sight between Mireya and Andras. Both bear the same marks on their skin, they bear the mark of those who had to learn to fight to survive. Yet the two continue to run into each other, as attracted by a mysterious force that they don’t know nor can contrast, held by a golden thread stronger than a destiny.
