Cadena Cope is still shocked by the deception of one of its journalists. The scandal has blown up the program “Tiempo de Juego” after learning that one of its collaborators allegedly had defrauded hundreds of thousands of euros from the most recognizable faces of the program, including Paco González, Manolo Lama or Pepe Domingo Castaño, claiming to be seriously ill.

Apparently, the members of the sports program would have agreed to allocate the money from a common fund called ‘bonuses’ to pay for the extremely expensive treatment that Guillermo Valadés, a great friend of all of them since his days on the Ser chain, received. The collaborator assured his colleagues that they had detected a brain tumor with metastases in his back, and that his chances of survival included experimental treatment at the Clínica de Navarra. Said treatment cost around 10,000 euros a week, so according to El Confidencial, sources from the chain have explained that the heavyweights of COPE Sports went out of their way and agreed to pay for the treatment to Valadés, with whom they have a close friendship. since many years.

A little later, the bills would have amounted to 16,000 euros per week due to some drugs that were included in the treatment. But lies have very short legs and something made Cope’s Sports team suspect that, a few days ago, they discovered that no one with the name of Guillermo Valadés was listed as a patient at the Clínica de Navarra.

A scam that has led the Cadena Cope sports team, led by Paco González to prepare legal actions -in a personal capacity- against his partner.

A disease brought to networks

A lie that Cope’s collaborator not only kept for months before his colleagues and friends, but also before his followers on social networks where references to his supposed battle with the disease have been happening in recent months. His own doctor was also invented after the publication of an interview with the doctor from the Clínica Universidad de Navarra in Madrid Javier Aristu, published in the Diario de Noticias .. “He is my doctor,” he wrote to colleagues by sharing the article. Aristu, is the clinical director of the Proton Therapy Unit of this medical center, a therapy that would be less invasive against cancer than chemo, which served the journalist to justify the absence of physical deterioration typical of this type of treatment.

But the lies do not seem to stop and, despite having proven his farce both with the hospital and with the doctor, the journalist insists on the disease and charges hard against Manolo Lama and Paco González, to whom he apparently threatened to leak images of their parties.

I have three months left!

According to El Cierre Digital, the journalist is “waiting for events” taking refuge in his parents’ house, where he would not want to leave. Willy Valades holds that he has cancer, so when asked by his colleagues from Deportes Cope, he affirms: «They have betrayed me. I have three months to live.”

The aforementioned outlet adds that Valadés “does not get out of character”, after leaving “his colleagues in shock, who do not know if the money has been polished or is kept in a box.” And he “is slipping warnings with the intention of trying to avoid the judicial process.”
