The interim president of the French Football Federation has confirmed that he will be a candidate to run for a term at the head of the institution on June 10.

It had been in the air for a few weeks. Philippe Diallo, who was present this Monday evening at the D1 Arkema Trophies rewarding the best players in the French women’s football championship, said he wanted to run for a “real” mandate in order to remain president of the FFF in the long term, he who does not is only interim.

Asked by RMC Sport, Philippe Diallo confirmed that he is a candidate for the position and will therefore stand for the elections scheduled for June 10. “The executive committee gives me its confidence, so there is a good chance that I will appear before the federal assembly to gain its confidence. But trust is earned, it’s the work I do every day to advance the Federation, to advance French football” did he declare.

«If the Federal Assembly is convinced, it will grant me its trust, which I hope is broad, since the wider it is, the more it will facilitate a bright future for our football.said the leader, still at the microphone of RMC Sport. This term would run until December 2024 before new elections are held.
