Lhe spokesperson for the Transitional Government took advantage of the ordinary council of ministers held this Thursday in Conakry to give some details on the mobile phone company Guinée Télécom. The Minister of Posts, Telecommunications and the Digital Economy hinted that the government is currently working on the final adjustments related to the official launch of the company’s SIM card.

“As Minister of Posts and Telecommunications, I presented Guinea Telecom’s new 4G SIM card during the Council of Ministers on Thursday. We will begin testing with the general public today. We have reserved a personalized number for the president of the transition, who has received his SIM card, as well as for other actors that we will choose. We will distribute 10,000 SIM cards to enable testing,” Ousmane Gaoual Diallo told the press.

Continuing, the spokesman of the Transitional Government, added that the Head of State, Colonel Mamadi Doumbouya, requested a detailed report on the activity of this new mobile phone company.

“We have asked the President to decide on the mechanism that we will use to market Guinea Telecom’s solution. Will the government, as we have done with Sotelgui, oversee the sale of SIM cards in collaboration with the company, or will we strengthen the partnership with the company that will support the development of this activity in our country?”, he wondered, specifying all the same that the president asked them to present two detailed reports to him on these two strategic options to be implemented, under the direction of the Prime Minister, everything that he promised to do so next Monday.
