MOUNTAIN KIDUL – The story of the duo killer of pregnant women from Purworejo, Central Java whose body was found floating on Ngrawe Beach Gunungkidul it’s finally over.

UNS students Eko Ronggo Waskito (24) and Agus Ariyono (36) were sentenced to death by a panel of judges at the Wonosari Gunungkidul District Court.

The trial for the verdict in the murder case of RN, 25, a resident of Purworejo, Central Java, was held on Tuesday (16/3/2023). The murder by throwing people away alive in the Kukup Beach area, Tanjungsari itself occurred on November 15, 2022.

The panel of judges chaired by I Gede Adi Muliawan and with two member judges Iman Santoso and Aditya Widyatmoko, took place in the Garuda court room yesterday (16/5). The two perpetrators were sentenced separately.

The first sentencing trial was conducted against the defendant Agus Ariyono, 36, starting at 12.15 WIB. Then the trial of the main perpetrator, namely Eko Ronggo Wakito, began at around 14.00 WIB. The trial did not take too long.

“Determining the defendant with the death penalty, stipulating that the defendant remains in custody,” said I Gede Adi Muliawan when reading out the verdict at a different time trial.

This decision is in accordance with the demands made by the public prosecutor in this case. Previously, the public prosecutor (JPU) at the Gunungkidul District Attorney demanded the death of the two defendants in the murder of a naked woman on Ngrawe Beach.

The panel of judges decided that both of them were guilty and deserved the death penalty because they were proven to have committed a crime under Article 340 of the Criminal Code jo. Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code and Article 80 paragraph (3) of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 17 of 2016 concerning the Stipulation of Government Regulations in Lieu of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 1 of 2016 concerning the Second Amendment to the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection became Law.

According to the panel of judges, the considerations that were aggravating to both of them were the heinous murder of RN and her baby. Apart from planning the murder, he also sold the victim’s belongings and fled. “As for mitigating matters, there is none,” added the panel of judges.

The panel of judges gave the right to the two defendants to respond to the decision. The defendant can accept the decision or think about the decision, refuse or submit other efforts within the time limit determined by law.
