At 58, Valérie runs 224 km in three days: “I’m going to end up in a pitiful state, but it’s great”

It is 10 a.m. this Wednesday near the summit of the Col du Lioran, in Cantal. Under an ambient temperature of only a few degrees Celsius, Valérie Hard set off for “the challenge of her life”. With her 6 kg bag on her back, this little woman (1m58 for 47 kg), aged 58, takes part in the Volvic Volcanic Experience, an ultra-trail race of… 224 km. The longest distance proposed by the organizers (there are 5 other races, of 15, 25, 43, 80 and 110 km).
