Research published by Royal Society Open Science revealed that 18 percent of people who participated in the study endured more pain when watching the film Stuart: a Life Backwardswhich recounts the real life of a disabled man, alcoholic and drug addict.
While other participants showed deeper ties by watching two documentaries on archeology and biology in Britain.
However, before seeing the productions, the participants completed a questionnaire about their state of mind, in addition to performing physical resistance exercises.
Subsequently, the investigation showed that pain tolerance after seeing the sad movie increased by 13.1 percent, but decreased by 4.6 when viewing the documentary.
