THE VERIFICATION – If the executive boasted of an unemployment rate at its lowest since 1982, the boss of the CGT preferred to see the glass half full. Is right ?

At 7.1%, the unemployment rate is at its lowest in 40 years, a success that the executive was quick to boast of. “The results of our economic and fiscal policy since 2017 are there“, greeted Bruno Le Maire, when his colleague Olivier Dussopt estimated that “our efforts to achieve the Full Employment Objective are reflected in these figures».
But are these remarks only a bluster? Invited on France Inter, Wednesday morning, the boss of the CGT delivered a completely different analysis, much more measured. “This is a drop that takes place in all the countries of the world, and France remains above the European average. So there’s nothing to shout croaking“said Sophie Binet, preferring to see the glass half empty.
