Puratosmultinational of Belgian origin dedicated to the production of bakery, pastry and chocolate products, inaugurated this Wednesday the installation of solar panels at its headquarters of Sils.
The installation of 2,572 solar panels, occupying an area of 6,735 square meters and with an energy of 1.9Gwh/year, will allow Puratos to produce up to 11% of the total annual energy needed for the production plants a Sils in the form of renewable energy. This new facility “represents an important step towards its goal of being CO₂ neutral by 2025”, the company assures.
It is about the second installation of solar panels for the companyhaving had a photovoltaic park for years, which supplies the necessary renewable energy to its office building located in the Sils headquarters itself.
The inauguration was attended by the CEO of the Puratos Group, Pierre Tossut and the consul of Belgium in Spain, Pierre Emmanuel Brusselmans, among other authorities.
Pierre Tossut, has affirmed that «at Puratos, we are proud to lead the way towards a more sustainable future in the food sector and we continue to work so that future generations can enjoy a better planet. The installation of these solar panels at Puratos España is another example of the Group’s commitment to sustainability, which will include new initiatives in the coming years.”
