From the crimes of ‘Glimmer’ in losing the light of reason it can all in all even be a ‘Walk of health’… And in fact, it is precisely with ‘Promenade de santé’ that Filippo Timi e Lucia Mascino – who in the Sky TV series are the bartender and the police commissioner of the Tuscan village of Pineta, in the episodes taken from the novels by Marco Malvaldi – they propose themselves on stage, always to represent a difficult but at the same time affectionate interpersonal relationship, in the comedy of the French writer Nicolas Bedoson stage until May 28 at Ambra Jovinelli theater in Rome.
The work, produced by Marche Teatro, also marked the theatrical directorial debut in 2020 of Giuseppe Piccioni, director, documentary filmmaker and screenwriter who until now had dedicated himself essentially to the world of cinema. However, the big screen is not absent in the staging of ‘Promenade de santé – Health walk’with the projection of large green backgrounds and close-ups of the two actors, engaged in the parts of two patients in a private clinic because they are ‘lovesick’, he is an erotomaniac, she is a nymphomaniac, whose dialogues intertwine between compulsive approaches and of rejection.
Tells the director Joseph Piccioni: “For some years I had been thinking about my debut in prose theatre. For a long time, I started looking for a text among the new playwrights in Europe, to escape the ritual call of the classics. Then, I chose to deal with this text by Nicolas Bedos, because it is complex, full of pitfalls and possible interpretations, open enough to be able to propose a personal representation: ideal, for a director like me who loves working with actors and who sees in the work of actors the heart of his research; as I have tried to highlight, at least so far, in my cinematic experience”.
