RJ Mathukkutty interview Kunjeldho movie Asif Ali Vineeth Srinivasan

by time news

Mathukutty says ‘Kunjeldo’ will be a very happy, funny movie that will connect everyone to the place.

RJ Mathukutty, who has gained a lot of attention as a radio jockey and television presenter, is all set to play the role of a director in ‘Kunjeldo’. As his first film hits theaters on Friday, Mathukutty is sharing the highlights of the film with Indian Express Malayalam.

Confidence given by Vineet

I like writing, but I was skeptical that a script could be written and reflected. It was at that time that director Rupesh Peethambaran was called upon to write dialogues for the film ‘You Too Brutus’. That’s when you understand how the script works. In the meantime, there was a situation where Vineeth had to be called. That’s how I tell the story in my mind that happened in my friend’s life. As soon as he said one or two scenes in it, Vinithettan burst out laughing terribly. You’re interested in writing and we’ll see the rest. Kunjeldo’s first draft is based on that confidence.

To the system

‘Kunjeldo’ was originally directed by Vineeth Sreenivasan himself. But Vineet had a few projects and had to postpone everything for a year and a half. Vinithettan wondered what to do next. For me, it was a time when I had no choice but to leave the radio and do nothing. I said I wanted to study cinema. Then learn and try to do it yourself, Vinithettan assured me that I would stand by him. That’s how I get into the system.

Asif was coming to the cinema

Kunjeldo is a feel good movie. Asif is someone who fits in well with Feel Good. The character has an emotional journey from the Plus Two era. The innocence of Plus Two and the very solid look when faced with big problems. It needed someone who could handle both. That is how the story is told to Asif. Asif wanted to do it as soon as he heard the story. Asif has not even thought twice about committing to the film. Asif did not mind at the time of writing. It’s a real event in my friend’s life. In the final draft of this, it was decided who should do it and it reaches Asif. It was not written by seeing Asif, Asif was coming to the cinema.

Heroine from Dubai

All the newcomers, including the heroine of the film, were selected through a thorough audition. The heroine Gopika was in Dubai. After I thought I could see the photo, I sent a script. Gopika acted according to the script and sent a video. As soon as I saw the video, he was shouting that we were about to start the film on the next flight.

Kovid was blessed

The film hits theaters almost two years after the shoot. The break provided by Kovid has been of great help in editing and sound. It is gratifying that those on the post-production team were able to work so peacefully. No one on the post-production team would have said that this could have been in the film again, and that it would have been better if it had been given another week.

The position of the producers is not to go to ODT

The film is about people who dream. This is the movie that everyone wanted to see in the theater. The manufacturers have stated in the first place that this is not the case. That was the wish of Asif and all of us. Along with that, the producers also took a stand. ‘Kunjeldo’ tells the story of the period 2003-06. So we were sure that the film would not get old even if it was a little late. That too was a courage.

Shane’s emotional work

There are five songs in the film. The music for all the five songs was composed by Shaan Rahman. A different Shaan Rahman music can be seen in this movie. ‘Kunjeldo’ will be Shane’s most emotional work. The songs of the film are written by presenter and actress Ashwati Srikanth, Anu Elizabeth and Santosh Verma.

Kalesh as a strong pillar

This will be the first time in history that a person in a passing shot has reached the promotion of a film. Kaleshettan had told me to come when I was out of hand as I was running through an unfamiliar route. I did not get out of hand, but came to the set three or four times. Is still with us today. Kaleshettan is our strong pillar.

Filming with friends was a great decision

The entire production team were friends. It was one of the best decisions I ever made in Cunhaldo. I worked with people I was comfortable with. One hundred percent of them have been with me. That decision went very well.

Kunjeldo on the screen

‘Kunjeldo’ will be a film that gives a lot of joy, can make you laugh a little, and connects everyone to each other. A laugh will remain on the lips of the audience while watching the movie.
