The pensioners of the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS) have the option of applying for a loan as one of their benefits. What is the maximum that can be authorized and how are the payments?
It is important to note that the application for the loan is made on account of the pension with any bank or financial entity that has an agreement with the IMSS.
The first steps to apply for the loan can be done from My Digital Pension. Then it starts with the service “Your easy and safe loan” to choose the bank with which the money will be requested.
The beneficiaries who request this loan have the option of paying it through monthly discounts on their pensions, and without interest being generated; however, there are some rules for the collection of monthly payments.
Loans range from five thousand to 20 thousand pesos to meet the monthly payment and thus settle the debt. The charge should not exceed 30 percent of the monthly pension. The term must not exceed 60 months, and prior to requesting the credit, the conditions established by the bank are consulted before continuing with the application.

Requirements to request an IMSS loan
Interested persons can start their loan application through the web portal “Your Easy and Secure Loan”. To do so, you must follow the following steps:
- They must enter www.imss.gob.mx/pensiones
- Know the amount of the loan offered by financial institutions and choose the one that offers the best conditions
- Subsequently, the financial entity chosen by the pensioner will contact him so that he can deliver and sign the documentation.
- Once the loan is approved, it will be deposited in the same bank account where the pension is received.
