On April 27, György Budaházy was released from Váci Prison after President Katalin Novák pardoned him, among others. This seems to be the end of the 14-year-long so-called Hunnia case. György Budaházy and his colleagues were accused of carrying out attacks against politicians from the ruling party between 2007 and 2008, and of trying to influence parliamentary decisions through intimidation.

In the program Narratíva, György Budaházy also talked about his release, as he said that he found out that day around 6 pm that he had been pardoned, so it was not planned that he would leave on horseback. After his release, he immediately went to a pub in Vác, where he drank wine and brandy.

Stop labeling me with baseless things.

Budaházy considers it outrageous that he is branded a terrorist and rejects the national radical label, describing himself as a patriot. But in the same way, he asks for fascist, Nazi and small-arrow epithets. In his opinion, many people are attacking him now because they want to gain a grip on the government through him.

If I were to admit to the actions I never committed, I wouldn’t be a terrorist either!

During the conversation, he also explained in detail that no tangible evidence was ever found that he had anything to do with the Magyarok Nyilai organization, which previously claimed responsibility for the attacks in statements.
