  • The new Optimum, Modernized, Organized and Satisfactory Service (SOMOS) model seeks to implement more agile and efficient processes to improve the user experience.
  • In addition, the second generation of the Cofepris Young Talent program was officially welcomed.
  • The health agency highlighted the actions to eradicate the figure of managers in carrying out procedures.

The Federal Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risks (Cofepris) inaugurated the first Regulatory Guidance Module. Everything arose from the recommendation of the Internal Control Body (OIC) to expand the range of services and make processes more efficient for the benefit of users.

The event was headed by the Secretary of Public Administration, Roberto Salcedo Aquino, and the federal commissioner of Cofepris, Alejandro Svarch Pérez. Both highlighted the efforts of this health agency to promote regulatory improvement actions and to eradicate the figure of managers in carrying out procedures.

Cofepris guarantees the fight against corruption

During his speech, the head of this health agency highlighted the institutional advances in terms of transparency and the fight against corruption, as well as in the optimization of processes.

“We left behind the days where Cofepris represented an indecipherable, complex and obscure institution, where many of us know that getting a transaction done required hours of advice and thousands of pesos. Today, Cofepris has in its Comprehensive Services Center (CIS), experts in regulation that provide free and reliable guidance”.

New model is serviced

Likewise, Alejandro Svarch presented the model Optimal, Modernized, Organized and Satisfactory Service (We are). It is a new mystique of work at the CIS, focused on implementing more agile and efficient processes to improve the user experience, and that consolidates the transformation of this agency into an agile, fair and, above all, transparent authority.

The Secretary of the Civil Service, Roberto Salcedo Aquinothanked the invitation to inaugurate the new Cofepris Regulatory Guidance Module and highlighted the importance of providing dignified and efficient treatment to users.

“I am very pleased that this module is inaugurated today, this represents treating people as people. Users come to carry out a procedure and we tell them: ‘it is approved, as long as it meets these requirements’. Managers are not needed, because that represents an additional cost that we are transmitting to the citizens. If I explain, I remove all corruption.”

At the end of the event, the head of this health authority officially welcomed the second generation of the program Young Talent from Cofeprisbased on programs such as the European Medicines Agency and the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

In its first generation, this program trained talents who today are directors of risk communication, digitization specialists, and experts in evidence and risk management.
