Each month, the Administration of the Social Security (SSA) send money to retired workers, to those who receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI), as well as disability and survivor benefits.
As SSA continues to mail May checks, it prepares to mail June benefits and certain recipients will receive a double payment next month. We explain who is eligible, the amounts and the payment dates.
Double Social Security payment in June: who will receive them, amounts and payment dates
Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients will receive two payments in June. This is due to the calendar. Sometimes SSI recipients get two payments in a month, but sometimes they get none.
SSI payments are scheduled to be sent out on the first day of the month. However, if the first day falls on a weekend, the payment is sent in advance. If the first day of a certain month falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the payment for that month is sent the Friday before during the previous month.
amounts
Average Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payments are around $650. The maximum benefit is $914 per month for an individual and $1,371 for a married couple where both spouses are eligible for the program.

SSI Payment Dates in June
In the case of June, SSI recipients will receive their payment for that month on the first day. In addition, they will receive a second payment on June 30. This second check corresponds to the month of July, but it is sent earlier because the first day of the month is Saturday. That is why in June, SSI recipients will receive two payments, but in July they will receive none. This situation will be repeated in the months of September and December of this 2023.
We share the schedule of months in which SSI recipients will receive a double payment:
June
September
December
