The number of vacant jobs in Israel in April 2023 was approximately 128,175, the Central Bureau of Statistics published today (Thursday), a figure that represents a decrease of 1.49% from the month of March, when the number of vacant jobs was approximately 130,118.

The demand for clerks, telephone sales representatives and security guards increased, while the demand for waiters and bartenders, sales workers, drivers and orderlies, masons, plasterers, joiners and skeleton workers in the construction field – decreased. The vacancy survey is based on organizations that employ more than five employees.

In the months of February to April, the number of vacancies for sales workers was 10,540 on average (a decrease of 4% compared to the months of January to March). The number of vacancies for engineers was 10,264 thousand of which 6302 thousand were software engineers (an increase of 3% in both); The number of vacancies for waiters and bartenders was 8,683 (a decrease of 10%); The number of vacancies for kitchen and cleaning workers was 6,826 (a decrease of 7%); The number of vacancies for telephone sales representatives was 4,409 (an increase of 24%).

The number of vacancies for nursing assistants was 5,550 (an increase of 2%); The number of vacancies for plasterers, masons, plasterers, joiners and skeleton workers in the construction sector was 3,558 (a decrease of 18%); The number of vacancies for house builders and concrete installers was 2,232 (an increase of 5%); The number of vacancies for bus and truck drivers was 5,063 (down 7%); The number of vacancies for security guards was 6,319 (an increase of 16%); The number of vacancies for engineers and technicians was 3,834 (a decrease of 7%); The number of vacancies for cooks was 4,193 (no change) and the number of vacancies for clerks was 3,134 (an increase of 24%).
