Adidas is selling a new collection swimsuit in the women’s clothing section in USA. What caught the attention of netizens is that the advertising piece stars a man.
It is an outfit from the new Pride collection. On the afternoon of Tuesday the 17th, the North American newspaper New York Post published that “it was not clear if the model identifies as male or is transgender”.
The name of the swimsuit is Pride Swimsuit, which would be “pride swimsuit” in Portuguese, and is being sold for US$ 70, equivalent to R$ 347.62 at the current exchange rate. The video stars “an apparently male model who was also sporting a noticeable bulge in the groin area,” the claim claimed. New York Post.
For one of the biggest names in women’s swimming, Adidas is erasing women
It wasn’t just the US media that turned attention to the Adidas product.
“All the male models who wear women’s swimsuits are skinny and all the women are plus size”, noted the English digital influencer Oli London. “What message is Adidas subconsciously trying to send consumers?” he asked.

Former swimming star Riley Gaines said she doesn’t understand why “the companies they are voluntarily doing this to themselves.”
I dont understand why companies are voluntarily doing this to themselves. They could have at least said the suit is “unisex”, but they didn’t because its about erasing women. Ever wondered why we hardly see this go the other way?

The swimsuit is not the only item in the Pride line in the women’s category designed by men. Dresses, t-shirts, shorts and soccer jerseys are also being advertised with male models.
