Anna Ermakova and Valentin Lusin trained in dancing for three months. But that’s not all. In the finale of “Let’s dance” the audience could see how intimate their relationship had become away from the dance floor.

The fact that Anna Ermakova became “Dancingstar 2023” is not only due to her talent, but also to her partner: professional dancer Valentin Lusin led the 23-year-old to the final.

During the final show, it became clear again and again how connected the two are. While shortly before Anna’s last dance, her mother Angela Ermakova wished her the “best of the best of the best”, Anna was visibly touched – and the 36-year-old Lusin stroked her cheek to calm her down, as can be seen in a camera pan.

Their close connection was also clearly visible in the clip: “I’m a bit sad,” says Ermakova on their last day of training together. “It was such a good time,” replies Lusin. But then he conjures something out of his pocket: “I’ve got something for you,” he says, beaming. “A little thing, a very small gift.”

It is “so that she never forgets the good times and always thinks of her”: A – it looks like – a self-made bracelet. “Team Curly Fries”, each of the white beads has a black letter on it.

“In any case, I’ve found a friend,” says Lusin. Ermakova is touched. In the last three months, the two have trained almost every day. Anna not only learned to dance from Valentin, but also the German language. In hectic or difficult moments, the two of them sometimes communicated in English and Russian.

In the final, too, Anna switched between German and English when she was overwhelmed by emotions. And with the jury’s praise, it wasn’t just one time. She received top marks of 30 points for each of her three dances, for her tango as well as for her slow waltz, which secured the dancing couple first place in the jury evaluation.

In the third and last performance, the freestyle dance, they interpreted “Alice in Wonderland”. Anna Ermakova wore the blue Alice dress with the white apron, Lusin had disguised himself as a mad hatter.

The decision was announced shortly after midnight, moderator Daniel Hartwich said: “This country likes you very much, Anna”. She replied: “Let’s Dance was an unforgettable journey for me and I found so many friends.” And then she can’t believe it when the trophy with the disco ball is really supposed to be for her.

So when she goes back to her native London, it’s not just the bracelet that will remind her of “Let’s dance”.
