Suveka, a Class XII student from Chennimalai, has been selected for a 4-year science research course at the University of Chicago in the United States with a scholarship of Rs 3 crore. Suveka is the only student from India to travel to Chicago on a scholarship.
Swaminathan-Sukanya couple’s children Suveka and Ashuthan, who belong to a Kasipalayam farming family in the bridge next to Chennimalai in Erode district. Among them was Suveka, a 10th class student at a private school in Chennimalai two years ago, when Sarath Sagar, a member of the Doctorate organization, spoke as a special guest at a function held at his school.
He said, “Scientific research has a lot of potential for global recognition. Poor kids, even if they have a lot of interest and hard work, can study science research with a scholarship at the University of Chicago in the United States. ” Noticing this, student Suveka expressed his interest in pursuing a science research education at the University of Chicago.
Sarath Sagar, President of Tectority, who saw the interest of student Suva, has been imparting training for management personality and professionalism to the student online through his organization. Suveka, who is currently studying Plus 2, has also received this training.
He worked hard for 16 hours daily at midnight and early in the morning, effectively learning all the training to enroll in the University of Chicago, and has since applied to enroll at the University of Chicago this year. In that application he mentioned the marks obtained in 9th, 10th and 11th class, sports achievement like volleyball, racing, basic training for research and science competition conducted by various organizations worldwide, personality and individual training received in Tektori system, multi language speaking skills.
The panel, led by former US President Barack Obama, examined his academic credentials, global competitive credentials and scientific research, and speech skills. In the end, the letter sent that Suveka had been selected for a 4-year undergraduate course in science.
In addition, a letter of approval has been sent for a bachelor’s degree with a scholarship of Rs. 3 crore for 4 years of study, accommodation and transport expenses. Commenting on her choice at the University of Chicago, Suveka said, “My parents were illiterate. They were not well educated and encouraged me to study scientific research. I am the first generation graduate in my family. I study 16 hours daily. I am a witness to the fact that with motivation, talent, self-confidence and hard work, anyone can achieve. ”
He said he had received a letter of invitation from the University of Chicago for admission to student Suveka for the coming 2022 – 2026 years.
