He said the allegations made by the SDPI leaders in this regard were baseless and he would resign if the allegations were proved. The SDPI district president has alleged that the police were summoning Jai Shriram along with their activists in custody in connection with the murder of a BJP leader in Alappuzha. The allegation was made at a peace meeting held at the Alappuzha Collectorate last day. After the meeting, the SDPI lodged a complaint.

Asif, Nishad, Ali, Sudhir and Arshad, all residents of Mannancherry, have been arrested on suspicion of involvement in the conspiracy to assassinate BJP leader Ranjith Srinivasan. All the four bikes used by them were taken into police custody.
