The representatives of the partners, in particular Mr. Ibrahima Seck, Deputy Director General of the Community Relations and Local Content Development Department of the Ministry of Mines and Geology, Mr. Aboubacar Sidiki Keita, Research Officer at the National Environmental Monitoring Center of the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development, Mr. Aboubacar Sylla, from the General Directorate of Communities of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Decentralization as well as the Program Managers and staff of the Governance and Rule of Law Cluster, the UNCDF Program Manager , the Head of PMSU take part in the meeting. A new project in the amount of USD 1,400,000 which will be implemented within the framework of Trac 2 and which will contribute to the respect of CSR and local content policies and to improve women’s access to economic opportunities.

As a reminder: the United Nations Program in Guinea is structured around two essential pillars, namely the promotion of good governance for sustainable development and the economic transformation and sustainable management of natural capital. The Pillar plays a central role in supporting Government activities to help improve political and economic management, promote economic governance through strengthened public institutions and increase the participation of civil society in decision-making and citizen control. to fight corruption.

Thus, the Technical Meeting of the GED Cluster in Kindia aims to allow all the teams of the Governance Cluster and the national partners involved to have a better understanding of the Project, the challenges to be met and to collect the various contributions, to update on implementation approaches, identify possible obstacles and the solutions to be provided, develop the Terms of Reference (ToRs) for the key activities of the project and validate the Annual Work Plan (PTA).

The presentation of the project elicited several reactions, in particular from partners representing the ministerial departments and Mr. Julien Mano, Head of the antenna of the National Agency for the Financing of Communities ANAFIC.

The reactions of UNDP colleagues focused mainly on the need to define effective strategies to move quickly to the implementation of the Project, which must be 60% executed by the end of August 2023, and the nature of the Trac Funds which are catalytic funds which should enable more resources to be mobilized. Questions related to mapping, the updating of Local Development Plans (PDL) and planning on the choice of localities and the impacts were raised before the constitution of the working groups.
