Five months after they started with a gradual opening and a little less than two months since it was fully opened, the authorities in Thailand have announced the immediate restriction of tourist entry. This means a return to the initial outline that will still allow vaccinated Israelis to enter the country, but with restrictions.

According to the details of the initial outline called “Sandbox” which is now being returned to in Thailand, Israelis will not be able to enter any area in the country before spending an entire week in Phuket. The stay in Phuket is not in isolation except for the first night until the results of the corona test performed after landing there. After the test results you can travel freely. According to the initial outline, after a week and a few corona tests, it is likely possible to continue to the rest of the country.

However, anyone who already holds a “Thailand Pass” or has applied before the decision goes into effect will be able to enter through all other areas of the country by early January. This means that at the moment it is no longer possible to submit applications to Thailand Pass, the permit that allowed entry into any region in the country during the last month and a half. The current decision is valid until January 4, when they will consider extending its validity.

Thailand is one of the last countries left orange. The morbidity rate in the country is relatively low and the morbidity graph shows a decline. However, in Thailand there is a fear of the spread of the omicron in the country and therefore steps are being taken to restrict the entry of tourists into the country.

In the Netherlands it has been announced that only tourists who have been vaccinated in two doses will be able to enter the country, in Germany the nightclubs will be closed and will be required to maintain social distance and a ban on gatherings, football matches will also be played without crowds starting December 28. Portugal announced the closure of clubs and nightlife starting December 26, mandatory work from home from January 9 and a ban on gatherings of more than 10 people in open space. In Finland it has been announced that from December 28 the restaurants will be closed at 18:00 for three weeks and everyone will be required to present a negative corona test before arriving in the country.
