The stakes are becoming more pressing with the threat of recurring droughts and the risk of drinking water pollution. According to a report by the National Health Security Agency (Anses), published on April 6, pesticide residues, from a fungicide yet banned since 2019 by the European Commission, are present in the tap water of the Hexagon. If even drinking tap water were to present a risk from now on, companies are advancing solutions such as treatment with ultraviolet (UV) rays. “For a century, scientists have known about UVC to sterilize water”explains Pascal Nuti, co-founder of Solable.
