Thiruvananthapuram: The lucky symbol of the first Kerala Olympics has been released. The lucky rabbit is named Neeraj in honor of Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra. Education and Labor Minister V.S. Shivankutty released the lucky draw. The Minister said that the Kerala Olympics will give great impetus to the sports sector in the state. The first Kerala Olympic Games will be held in the capital from February 15 to 24 next year. Winners of all 14 District Olympics will compete in 24 events. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan is the Chief Patron of the first Kerala Olympics to be organized under the auspices of the Kerala Olympic Association.

Senior athletes from different parts of the country will arrive in the capital as part of the Kerala Olympic Games. Kerala Olympic Association President V Sunilkumar, who presided over the function, said that an international expo will be organized in Thiruvananthapuram in connection with the Olympic Games. He added that this will attract more sports enthusiasts to Kerala.
