The music icon died “after a long illness” at the age of 83 at her home in Küsnacht, Switzerland, Turner’s agent announced on Wednesday evening. The star’s management did not specify the exact cause of death.

Despite a serious illness 3 years ago, Tina was hoping for a “second chance”

Tina Turner has suffered from high blood pressure since the 1970s. Kidney disease followed, and the superstar had to be treated. She later discontinued the medication and took homeopathic remedies instead. A big mistake, as Tina later admitted: “I had destroyed my kidneys.”

So that others don’t make the same mistake as her, she published part of her medical history on the blog “ showyourkidneyslove(“Show Your Kidneys Love”).

The help: her great love, husband Erwin Bach (67). He donated a kidney to Turner six years ago, saving her life. He got through a lot with his Tina for almost 40 years, especially in the last phase of her life…

Shortly after her wedding in 2013, Tina Turner suffered a stroke, and in 2016, a year before the kidney transplant, she was diagnosed with colon cancer. And now death.

“I summoned my inner lioness and roared. I yelled and yelled, over and over, until I overcame all health issues, just like any other challenge before,” Tina Turner wrote in her 2020 book.

And even if she couldn’t win the last fight, she will surely live on through her music for a long time to come…
