25 people have participated in the course “Prevention of addictions in the educational field”
The Mental Health School of the Confederation has developed the third edition of this training, with the aim of training professionals from the associative movement in the prevention of substance use and other addictions.
The training has been given in online modality and has had a study load of 20 hours, of which 5 hours were remote, corresponding to the readings of complementary material, and 15 hours through videoconference sessions. The course has been developed within the framework of the program “Catalog of training in mental health and addictions for the network of associations of the Confederation SALUD MENTAL ESPAÑA”, subsidized by the National Plan on Drugs of the Ministry of Health.
in the course, A total of 25 people from 16 territories have participated: Navarra, La Rioja, Melilla, the Region of Murcia, Asturias, the Canary Islands, the Valencian Community, Castilla y León, Castilla-La Mancha, Aragon, Extremadura, Andalusia, Madrid, Catalonia, the Basque Country and Galicia. The professional profiles of the attendees (22 women and 3 men) correspond to the areas of Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy and Social Education.
The main objective has been train people belonging to the associative movement to develop the necessary tools to prevent substance use and other addictions in the educational field and in the intervention with young people.
The course has been taught by Olga Herrero, a trainer from Fundación FAD Juventud. The sessions were spread over three different days: May 3, 10 and 24. In them, topics such as the phenomenon of drug use, the prevention of problems associated with this type of consumption, and what role should be played by the school, the teaching staff and the school community were discussed. In addition, instruments and tools for prevention in the school environment were offered.
