Iran unveils a new ballistic missile that is difficult to target

Watan Al-Youm: The Iranian Ministry of Defense unveiled a new ballistic missile called “Khyber”, which is a modified version of the “Khorramshahr” missile, and classified it as the fourth generation of this model.
The new missile has a range of 2,000 km and carries a warhead weighing 1,500 kg.
The ministry explained that the missile is difficult for air defense systems to target because of its high speed.
And the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) stated that the newest Iranian ballistic missile and the latest products of the Aerospace Industries Organization of the Ministry of Defense were unveiled today, Thursday, in a ceremony attended by the Minister of Defense.
Iran has expanded its missile program, especially its ballistic missiles, despite the opposition of the United States and the expression of concern by European countries, while Tehran says that the program is purely defensive and aimed at deterrence.
And last March, the Iranian Chief of Staff, Major General Muhammad Bagheri, announced that his country had successfully tested a ballistic missile capable of targeting moving marine vessels.
He explained that Tehran is currently working on producing this missile, which has a range of 1,500 kilometers and flies at high speed, noting that possessing this type of weapon provides security in the seas surrounding Iran for a distance of up to 1,000 kilometers.
