In October last year, in one of the countries of the European Union, men purchased at least seven kilograms of hashish. The drug was hidden in a special cache in the car and in food bags. When crossing the customs clearance point “Varshavsky Most”, the attackers came to the attention of customs inspectors.
By a court verdict, the men were found guilty of illegally moving drugs across the customs border of the Eurasian Economic Union on a large scale as part of an organized group. Each was sentenced to nine years’ imprisonment and a fine of 150 basic units. They were also found guilty of illegal storage and transportation of narcotic drugs for the purpose of sale, sentenced to imprisonment for a period of 15 years and a fine of 150 basic units. By partial addition of punishments, two carriers were sentenced to imprisonment for a term of 17 years each with serving a sentence in a correctional colony under a reinforced regime and a fine in the amount of 200 basic units – 7,400 rubles.
