A guarantee of water quality that reassures walkers and bathers. “This gives us confidence in the quality of the water“, explains a local resident. To obtain this label, there are a hundred criteria, including accessibility and waste management. “We have a decking that allows people with disabilities to go to the beach, and sorting bins“, explain Pierre Jacques Carles, elected in charge of the environment.

The cost of the investment is 100,000 euros. It is an expensive label, but which also proves to be a mark of attractiveness. A few kilometers away, the beach is already labeled. “We see the attendance constantly increasing”explains Bruno Piefort. The blue flag would encourage 8 out of 10 French people to choose a holiday location. On the Vendée coast, 14 beaches have obtained the label this year.
